Currently, Cable Network systems usually use a 2-way splitter to combine or separate the signals for upstream and downstream.
Since 2-way splitters cannot isolate the two bands effectively, interference between the upstream and downstream often becomes a problem
To solve this problem correctly, replace the 2-way splitter with a diplexer for upstream and downstream bands.
The DPX1-42/54 is a newly designed, high-performance Cable Network diplexer. It offers many features:
1. Lowest insertion loss: Upstream and Downstream bands through-loss <1.0dB reduced to
absolute minimum.
2. Excellent return loss: Better than 16dB in essential for Upstream and Downstream bands to
provide a good match of impedance so as avoid an increased in noise and to reduce signal
loss to keep the signal clean.
3. High Rejection: Better than 45dB provides a good isolation and avoids interference.
The Upstream and Downstream bands can be chosen according to customer specifications.
– Technical Note –
* Upstream band: 5 – 45MHz (North American)
* Upstream band: 6 – 65MHz (EUROPE)
* Downstream band: 54 – 806MHz (North American)
* Downstream band: 85 – 862MHz (EUROPE)
* The 2-way splitter insertion loss is 3.5 to 4dB and isolation is 20dB with normal specifications.
